Tampa Bay Coastal Ocean Model (TBCOM) is an application of the unstructured grid Finite Volume
Community Ocean Model (FVCOM) for the Tampa Bay region, including the Sarasota Bay, the
Intra-coastal Water way, and all of the inlets connecting these bodies with the adjacent Gulf of
Mexico (GOM). The model is nested within a lagrer domain West Florida Coastal Ocean Model (WFCOM). Shown above is a movie of
TBCOM simulated surface currents and sea level (one day hindcast three day nowcast/forecast).
This project is funded by the Pinellas County RESTORE Act Program to the College of Marine Science (CMS) at University of South Florida (USF). Please contact the Principal Investigator, Prof. Robert H. Weisberg, if you have any questions.
