Venice Wera Site Notes
The 12 RX antenna WERA site is Co-located along with the USF CODAR site at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Station number 86. Offshore sea surface current speed and direction radial data is provided hourly via cellular modem to USF/CMS.
This site became operational on 6/13/10 and operated continuously until it was temporarily shut down in August of 2024 for approximately 1.5 years because of a combination of on-beach hurricane related antenna damage coupled with an extended facility-wide construction project. System operation and radial HF Radar data generation was restored on March 08, 2026.
